General Terms and Conditions

Admission: Admission to the sailing course is only final after receipt of the order confirmation. By accepting these terms and conditions upon registration, participants confirm that they are proficient swimmers and have no health problems that could endanger themselves or others while sailing.

Course fees: Course fees must be paid in advance. If you cancel up to 14 days before the start of the course or private lesson, a cancellation fee of CHF 50 will be charged. If you cancel later than this, the full amount will be charged. Cancellations must be made in writing. Cantonal examination fees are not included in the course fees.

Insurance: The Thunersee Sailing School is insured for liability claims. It is only liable to course participants and passengers within the scope of the insurance coverage. Claims for compensation beyond this coverage or compensation for losses or disadvantages of any kind are excluded. Personal effects are not insured, and accident insurance is the responsibility of the course participants.

Clothing: Boat shoes or sneakers are required on all boats. Sun and rain protection are recommended and should be brought along on the first morning. Waterproof clothing can be rented or purchased (no children's sizes). Life jackets are provided. Wearing life jackets is the responsibility of our guests.

Federal sailing license category D: To obtain a federal sailing license, the guidelines of the relevant authorities must be followed. Candidates from outside the canton must present a permit from their canton of residence to take the practical exam outside the canton when they start the course. Boat rental: Boats are allocated by the sailing school staff. In the event of unfavorable weather conditions, the station management reserves the right to refuse to hand over the boats for safety reasons. Renters are required to carry a valid sailing license with them on the trip. They are liable for any damage or loss caused by their own fault.

Exclusion: Persons who behave unsportingly or who do not follow the instructions of the sailing instructors will be excluded. Complaints must be addressed in writing to the school management.
